What is Full Spectrum CBD?
Full Spectrum CBD contains most of the extracts that are found in the cannabis plant including, CBD, among other cannabinoids, terpenes, and acute amounts of THC. Unlike with an isolate, which strips everything else the plant contains out, and leaving pure CBD. Full spectrum CBD also contains vitamins, essential fats, and protein. Vitamins A, C, E, and B are found in abundance in CBD, along with up to 20 amino acids and essential fatty acids, like Omega 3 and Omega 6. As you can see, Full Spectrum offers way more of the whole plant than an isolate does, which gives the user more of an "entourage effect" from the other components that are found in the plant outside of CBD alone. Blue Sky Farms CBD started out by selling our very popular CBD Isolate, and are excited to be able to not offer our customers the highest quality Full Spectrum CBD on the market!
What is the difference between CBD Isolate and Full Spectrum?
As mentioned above, Blue Sky Farms CBD started out by selling only CBD Isolate, in all of our products. CBD Isolate means exactly that, the cannabinoid CBD is extracted from the plant in it's purest form, leaving behind what many consider to be additional benefits of the plant. CBD Isolate therefore is 99% pure CBD. There are advantages and disadvantages to this, and will be dependent on the consumer as to which they feel is better suited for them. The advantage of CBD Isolate is the purity. There is no detectable THC in a CBD Isolate, which means that passing a urinalysis will not be a problem, and people that are very sensitive to THC will not have to worry about any adverse side effects due to that. A couple of other advantages to CBD Isolate for some can be the lack of any flavor, and the cost. CBD Isolate is so pure, and so clean, that it has virtually no flavor at all. Also the cost of producing, and therefore purchasing CBD Isolate products, tend to be cheaper than Full Spectrum products.
The term Full Spectrum comes from the fact that these products are not stripped of many other cannabinoids and nutrients found within the hemp plant, CBD is therefore not "isolated" as above. There are hundreds of different compounds found within the cannabis plant, which many believe have additional benefits beyond CBD alone. It is hypothesized that by utilizing more parts of the plant, and the additional cannabinoids, there can be what is referred to as an "entourage effect" by using these products. What this means is that there is believed to be an "entourage effect" within the body by creating a better balance of homeostasis through activating different receptors in our endocannabinoid system in our bodies. To simplify things, this means that each additional compound that is found in a Full Spectrum CBD product, has an additional benefit to our bodies with it's own unique properties, and should therefore be an overall better result over an isolate. The disadvantages to Full Spectrum is that they do contain a small amount of THC. There is not enough THC for a person to feel "high", but there is enough that may be an issue for individuals who are highly sensitive to THC, or choose not to consume any amount of THC whatsoever. The other issue with the small amount of THC found in Full Spectrum CBD is the possibility of failing a urinalysis, which may be required for a job, benefits, or other reasons that these tests are administered.
Is Full Spectrum CBD or CBD Isolate best for me?
This is a highly individual choice that must be made based on some of the information stated above. There is no one product that is best for everyone. Each one contains it's advantages and disadvantages, so this needs to be an individual choice that suits your personal needs. Hopefully the information above will give you some of the key points to base that decision, but also keep in mind that you can Contact us at any time to answer any additional questions that you may have in order to make an informed decision.
